The act of controlling or regulating the use and sale of firearms is called as gun control. The issue of gun control is among the most controversial issues in political background of United States. There are 70 to 80 million adult carrying guns in the country and their percentage stands as 30 to 34 percent and total of 40 to 45 million adults are using handgun with percentage from 17 to 19 percent. The statistics further adds that 42% household people, 30% individuals, 47% male, 13% female, 33% white, 18% non white, 41% republican, 27% independent, 23% democrats keep the firearms. In the same survey, reason for keeping gun was stated by gun owners as 67% kept for self protection, 66% kept for target shoot and 41% kept of hunting.
